Collect the e-mail addresses of your past, present and potential customers. E-mail addresses can be input into the system singularly or in a bulk file. If you use a contact management or report writing software of any kind, you can create an ODBC compliant bulk list of your previous clients e-mail addresses from that resource using Microsoft Access, Excel or SQL server. HomeHints eNews is not spam. Every newsletter recipient will have the option to “opt out” from receiving further e-mails. The e-mail addresses that you load into the system should be from contacts that you have a prior business relationship with. Resist the temptation to upload e-mails from parties that you have not established a relationship with. They are worthless. The most valuable e-mail contacts that you have are from prior customers who will want your newsletter. Remember e-mail addresses that you have obtained via a purchased list have no value to you in this proposition. E-mail recipients familiar with your outstanding service with whom you have shaken hands are the ones who will be most responsive to your newsletter and will bring you referral business. Quality subscribers are more valuable than the quantity of your subscriber base.

Upload your e-mail addresses to the HomeHints eNews web site. Be sure to double check the accuracy and spelling of each e-mail address. Incorrect entries will “bounce back” each month and not get through to the intended recipient.
